What happens during a gas boiler service?
An annual service will start by a visual check on on the boiler to ensure the boiler and all associated components are sited and positioned correctly.We will then then check that your boiler is operating correctly and make you aware of any potential problems before we go any futher.We can then proceed to the technical part of checking the following :
A pressure test is performed on the gas line from the gas meter all the way into your house to make sure there are no gas leaks.
We will carry out a gas pressure check to ensure the pressure at which the boiler is operating is correct.
A flue gas analyser will be attached to the boiler to make sure the flue is not blocked and that the boiler is burning the correct mixture of gas and air.
Electrical connections are clean and making good contact
Fans and all key components are working efficiently
Heat exchanger removed and cleaned
Electrodes are in good condition
All safety devices are working correctly
Condensate trap and pipework are clean and have no blockages
We will restart your boiler to ensure it is working correctly and that it is working as the manufactures specifications.
You will then be issued a gas certificate which shows you all of these checks have been carried out and we can answer any questions you may have.
